If a seesaw is not to be used for an extended period (more than 3 months), five storage measures should be taken to prevent damage and performance degradation. The first step is thorough cleaning. Wipe the surface of the seesaw with a soft cloth to remove dust and stains. Plastic parts can be cleaned with a neutral detergent. Remove rust from metal parts with a dry cloth (for minor rust, sand it down and apply rust-preventive oil). Solid wood parts should be wiped clean and then coated with a protective oil to prevent moisture and mold. After cleaning, ensure all parts are completely dry with no moisture residue. The second step is component protection. Disassemble easily worn parts (such as handrails and connectors) and pack them individually in plastic bags to prevent loss or damage. Apply rust-preventive oil to metal connectors. Avoid squeezing and stacking plastic parts to prevent deformation. If an outdoor seesaw cannot be disassembled, cover the entire seesaw with a waterproof cover to prevent rain and dust from entering. The third step is choosing the storage environment. Indoor storage should be in a dry, well-ventilated area without direct sunlight (such as a storage room), avoiding proximity to heat sources (such as radiators or ovens) to prevent plastic aging and metal deformation due to heat. Temporary outdoor storage requires a sunshade and rain shelter, with the bottom raised with wooden blocks to prevent waterlogging, and away from corrosive substances (such as fertilizers and pesticides). The fourth step is regular inspection. Check the storage condition every 1-2 months for moisture, rust, or insect infestation (for solid wood parts). If problems are found, deal with them promptly, such as replacing the waterproof cover or applying rust-preventive oil. Plastic parts should be checked for cracks to prevent damage from prolonged pressure. The fifth step is assembly preparation. Before use, thoroughly clean the parts, check the connections for firmness, re-lubricate metal parts, and ensure all parts are functioning correctly before assembly. After assembly, test operation to confirm safety before use.
